The Mountain West Conference football season will start September 26, and allow for two non-conference games.   Wednesday's announcement by the Mountain West ended speculation of a pure conference only schedule for football.   Eight conference games will be part of the season, which will still end in a conference championship game to be played as early as December 5, and no later than December 19.   The non-conference games are up to the individual schools and do not have to be played.

Schedules for each team have not been finalized.

As part of the decison for football, the Mountain West also allowed cross country, women's soccer and women's volleyball to play this season in a conference only format.

All fall competition in the sports of men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, swimming and diving, indoor track and field, softball and baseball has been canceled.
