The Pac-12 Conference Friday announced it will play a conference only college football schedule in 2020.

The decision means a couple of things for the football scene in Las Vegas.  UNLV loses two it's previously scheduled opponents: the season opener at Allegiant Stadium on August 29 against Cal, and a game September 12 against Arizona State.   UNLV has reportedly been in talks with TCU to replace Cal.

The Pac-12 was supposed to stage it's conference championship football game in Las Vegas in December.   The championship game will now take place at a designated "home venue" on campus.   The Las Vegas debut of the Pac-12 Championship game will now take place in 2021.

The season will begin September 26, with schedule flexibility for a later start date if needed.
