LAS VEGAS, NV - The Golden Knights have announced they're rewarding defenseman Zach Whitecloud with a two-year contract extension.

Whitecloud, who left Bemidji State college in 2018, joined the organization in its inaugural season during their run to the Stanley Cup Finals.  He spent last year with the team's AHL affiliate where he helped lead the Chicago Wolves to the Calder Cup Final.  The 6'1" 209-lb defenseman made his NHL debut last year in a game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Whitecloud's new contract will reportedly pay him an average annual salary of $725,000.
